I am confused about BRS Group Buy

you don't get a group buy discount because you're ordering a bunch of couplings and connectors, its when a group of people from arc go in together and want to buy something. or maybe I don't understand your question?

Same here. From my understanding, once you go in with a group buy you get some what of a slight discount on products afterward.
Perhaps you should ask on R2R?

I will answer your question.
A group buy at BRS consists of something like 10 people getting together and one person sends BRS an email with all of your user names. You get an email from BRS when the group buy starts. You log into your account and it should indicate that you are part of a group buy. Most things are discounted, but big ticket MAP items are not.
After the group buy you receive the title PREFERRED REEFER. You will get slightly discounted prices over the general public that have not participated in a group buy with BRS. Another way to become a PREFERRED REEFER is to do a set amount of reviews.
Any random 10 people can get together for a group buy since they ship to each individual. It is nice and saves you a few bucks. It is usually easier to find 10 random people that want to purchase something from BRS on a specific week through more national forums like R2R, Nano-reef, or RC.

many moons ago I participated in a group buy here, and I am now a "preferred member". So I always get a small discount. When I joined in another group buy here, the discount was "steeper" than my preferred member status.

put all the stuff you want in your basket and call them. there is an almost 24/7/365 group buy going on through reef central. mention it and you will get the group buy rate.
Also once you are in on a group buy your account(if you have one) will keep the lower(bulk) prices no matter what, but the group buy rates are still a bit less.

It's strange. Something would be wrong with my account or their site would not work correctly. Without log in, I see the price changes based on 10.31% discount. If I login, the price is still the same (no discount). I had to call them to place an order on phone. I received the invoice and price was still the same (no discount). I called them back and they know what was going on. They're going to give back credit. What a wast time this morning.
