I am hoping this is only algae. Please ID.

Thank you. Glad to know what it is and will work on eliminating it - part of the hobby, I guess. Thanks again!

Ouch....should have hoped for something else....is it everywhere?

regardless of coral, pull the rock if the bryopsis is still isolated.

there is no way to varify from that crappy pic....but it does't look good

there are 2

yes 2 easy ways to handle this if you follow these to a "t"

choose "A" = give up
choose "B" = restart
choose "C" = struggle forever
choose "D" = Kents Tech M 90% FIX
choose "E" = H2o if under 120 or less 100% FIX.....

Edit:

Thanks but I don't understand E. Please explain that choice. It's just on a few rocks that I can dispose of and elevate Mg, but what is choice E?

He left off a 2 at the end.....peroxide

if there's nothing on the rock, I would pull it out of there right now and dip it in a peroxide solution.

Still don't totally get E, but that's fine. Appreciate the advice. Have a good night and enjoy the rest of the weekend. :-)

pull those rocks ASAP Tony. But its still likely sprouted in the rest of the tank (or spores floating around too) so go with Tech M as well

It's only a lost cause if you let it get out of control, which happens FAST. manually remove anything you can. Pull the rock, pluck it off rocks that you cant pull, get as much out as possible. Then begin the tech M. It's not magnesium that does it, its a secret ingredient in Kent Tech M only

If it's a couple barren rocks, just pull it out. Dont start picking at it in your display

yeah but if its on rocks you can't pull the CUC can't do much to a 4-5" tuft

Edit: I do agree though. Don't pluck if you can pull it out. The rock isn't worth it's weight covered in bryopsis
