I bought a GLO T-5 today. Won't turn on

Any of you guys that have a T-5, how long should it take to turn on? Mine has been dead. I bought new bulbs too.

It should turn on right away. Might be a dead ballast.

What is a ballast? Is this a common problem?

I hope this is not insulting but I did it myself once so...did you make sure the bulbs are turned into place all of the way? T5s will not fire until the bulbs are put into the unit entirely.

turn till they click? I just put them in, and put on the watertight screws.

Thanks for the advice. I just didn't turn the bulbs into the sockets. It is brilliant blue now. My dying frags will hopefully come back to life. If anything, I need to see Brandon now and get some frags that will live in my new environment.
