I have an API test strip kit that tests nitrates AND I have a Tetra test kit for NO3 (nitrates). The problem is is the API is reading my nitrates at 0ppm (white on the strip for those familiar) and my Tetra chemical kit is reading out at 25 mg/l. I understand different kits and brands can vary slightly, but this is a huge variation. My hope is that mg/l is different from ppm..lol; I don't think that's the case though. My tank is 75 gallons and I changed out 10 gallons last night (know that's not much). Everything in my tank seems happy and I don't have algae; I finally got rid of hair algae a few weeks ago after fighting it for a month. My nitrites are 0ppm (on both my API chemical and API strip test kits), oxygen is 15mg/l (should be 10-15mg/l according to kit), and phosphates are 0ppm. Does anyone have any advice? I don't allow food to settle in my tank substrate, I have at least 15 snails plus 3 mexican turbo snails. I have a 200 gallon sump, a red sea venturi skimmer, a uv sterilizer for and a 120 gallon tank. For live stock, I have 1 watchman goby with shrimp, 1 Mandarin Goby, 1 young Coral Beauty, 2 Percula Clowns, 2 blue chromis, and a few (maybe 6) hermit crabs. I have 2 BTA (each hosted by a clown fish), 1 birds nest coral, and 1 baby clam. Would appreciate any advice here!

go get a Salifert, Elos, or Tropic Marin test kit, and you wan't have any more issues with knowing what is what.
