I've been wanting one of these for a long time. I picked it up yesterday and can't wait to see the colors start to pop after a few weeks under my leds. In person, you can faintly see the red one has purple polyps. Should be interesting once they grow together!

Anyone have any helpful tips outside of the norm?

Edit: Not sure why my photobucket pica won't so... I'll get one up in a few min...

Congratulations on your Monti, but a word of caution. If they like your system, they can become very invasive and spread everywhere, overwhelming most other corals in their path.

Lol, that's exactly the plan...

It gives me an excuse to get a bigger tank!

I have no idea... I'm hoping a that after they color up maybe I can compare them to others online. I have a friend who takes pictures (he's done a few photo shoots of my car) who is going to get some good pics of everything.

Looks similar to mine, idaho grape monti. I've been wanting to get a red or green so they swirl together, seen some in a few tanks. Looks awesome!

That's my bad......I've still got that red monti for you.

No prob Ringo, I have been rather busy myself. If you come up my way or if I am around your way we will have to meet up.

O thought I got a decent deal on these two... $69 for the both of them. What do y'all think?

not horrible for the size, did you get them at an LFS? Also depends on the kind, some are more rare.

looks like a nice piece. Nice enough for you to buy it and that's all that really matters. I like montis myself

I got them at Neptune's Reef here in Columbus. Like I said though, I have no clue what kind they are. They look nice, and should look outstanding after they color up some. I just increased the intensity of a few channels on my led setup today. I had them cut back due to them bleaching a nice size piece of Favia and a small piece of Leptastrea. The other day I finished my temporary frag tank, which is now home to the Favia, and these Monti's were the perfect replacement coral for them.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I just recently got back into the hobby and have been having really good success thus far. I'm really wanting to graduate to a real tank from my Biocube though... luckily for me, my wife also loves reef tanks too and actually suggested that we get a larger tank! Yep, I done good!
