class="gc-images" title="uploadfromtaptalk1392941976206.jpg[/IMG] style="max-width:400px" /></a> it looks like a mollusk of some sort. It's mostly red/brown with lime green flecks. I just showed up. The rock has turned really green and this guy popped up.

Does anyone know what it might be? Because I have no clue. It wasn't there yesterday but its there today...

That's the best I can get with the way it's sitting in the tank. That's why I described it

Does it have a shell of any kind and is it a half shell or whole or 2 sides like a clam ?
you could try and move the rock closer to the glass for a better camera shot if that's possible.
There are so many likely candidates that are hitch hikers on live rock there is no way to tell without a better photo.
If it moved there on its own it can be removed if its not a clam or scallop that has byssal threads just pluck it off with tweezers and toss it in a container for I'd purposes , then you could decide wether or not to keep it.
If it does have byssal thread tissue it can be cut with a razor but I'd just leave it alone .
I have seen so many creatures on my lr , some I'll see on occasion , and some I saw only once ever and once they go back in the rock there goen for a wile if not for ever.

As a general rule of thumb if I find something in my tank that I can't identify it has to go because some of those little hitch hikers are fine but others reek havoc and this hobby is too pricey and delicate to let a potential fox in to the hen house so just be very sure of what you have .

It's 2 sided. I will see about a better pic later. It looks like it is attached but I can't be certain. It does however look like two shells clamped down with little zig zag pattern where they meet.

some mollusk and clams burrow and live in rocks. I am unsure what type that is, but I have one that looks the same. It has dug down into my rock and is impossible to get out, but from what I have heard, they live in the rock with just the top coming out. Mine opens about 1/8" or less, but has never moved. You pictures look like what I have in my tank, but mine is deeper in a rock and not visible without moving the rock. Just keep an eye on it, but if it looks like 2 shells closed together, I bet that is what it is. They are usually attached with a foot, similar to a clam, if you pull it out, it will die.

That's exactly what it is. It has a foot and it won't come out of the rock it actually pulled itself into it a little bit when I went to try and grab it. It looks like the little guys you see on the beach when the waves come in. But its brown and lime green.

Clams are</em> mollusks.

This clam is a harmless filter feeder. Enjoy!
