I wanted a Flame Angel and I already had a Coral Beauty.
So, I went and bought the Flame Angel and I had a backup plan, just in case things got ugly. I have a 20 Gallon QT tank.
I know we're not supposed to mix angelfish but...

How do you explain this?:

Anyway, my angelfish fish are getting along. So, yay!!!!!

Disclaimer: I am not implying that you should mix these fish. I think fish, like people, have personalities and these two just happened to work out together.

shall i try and help those of you who don't understand this link, :doh: if a flame angel and a coral beauty (both dwarf angels) are not to be be put in a tank together then how in the world do we end up with a crossbreed angel, they must have been in the same tank and may i even say that they must have been in love to make offspring, did yall"s momma and daddy drop the ball on this subject. :roll: :lol2:

The wild is much different than the close quarters of our captive glass boxes. In the wild you will find shoaling tangs that you can not replicate in all but very very large systems. Seen below..... replicate that =)

Having said that Dwarf Angels can occasionally mix. Since so far so good, congrats! keep your eye on them for as they mature you still may have problems.

Hybridization in the wild occurs in very different circumstances than what we have in our tanks. Besides, the coral beauty was only feigning interest in the flame to make her boyfriend jealous.

<span style="color: black">I really think I was just lucky they didn't try to kill each other and I stay home so I have the privilege of keeping a close eye on them. Glad you found a pic of my new set-up.....

Having the same species in a tank is just one of those things.....sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, imo

Good luck ya there are rules n the hobby that you can bend, but don't get use to doing it eventually one will catastrophically wipe your tank

I think you'll be more cautious as you eventually have more to lose .

None taken.Thanks about the fish being pretty, I'm done with fish not adding any more. I will probably just add more coral if anything. Like I said before I was trying to see if they did work out but had a backup plan. I'm not planning on spending crazy amounts of money on anything,

Thank you, they dont parallel swim they usually go separate ways. Sometimes they cross paths but ignore each other. It was feeding time and yes, I do keep an eye on them. I stay home and the tank is in my living room. Thanks for your input it means a lot coming from someone with the experience you have
