i have 4 slugs that have come out of my live rock. kinda hard to describe and i don't have any pics. but they are all under an inch. cream with brown. they have little tentacles on their backs i would say like 6 of them. and they don't have a shell. does anyone know. i tried looking on, http://www.seaslugforum.net">www.seaslugforum.net</a> and couldn't find it. so maybe someone on here would know.

thanks.
nicole.

Are they a type of nudibranc? You probably will have to provide a pic to get an accurate response, but I'd try to remove them if possible. Usually free slugs are BAD.

Check out this page and see if you can find it:

Nassarius</em> snails have a long tube-like siphon that protrudes from the end of the shell.

not it. it doesn't have that. and i don't think its a snail.

okay the little tentacles are not grouped together. they are spread out. evenly on its back. in a row, almost.

i would have to agree with barbara. the stomatella looks the most like it. so if it is that thats good. for what i read. right?

Ok, the live rock came out of my 90 gal tank which has a lobster and 3 hare' in the tank. Do the safe thing and pull them out. But these are baby hares so I would be happy to buy them from you or trade for part of your cleanup crew. Still try to get a good photo of it so we can all see.
