Yeah, it was. I lost most of my coral and colonies when my solana crashed. I saved a few frags and have started to grow them out in my 70. The color is starting to recover. You know where I live. Swing by if you want to take a look.
 
lol you guys are crazy...I may do that Matt. Ralph I will say that watermelon chalice is pretty nice, but I;m with ya the price you pay per size is kinda stupid I would pay 100+ for a 4in piece that makes more since IMHO rather than 100+ for one eye.

Coming from a family that has horses, chalices are WAY cheaper!!!!
 
I would love a lot of different things but they just out of my price range I will stick with my softies for now.

I really like a lot of the chalices I can look on sexycorals.com for hours but im brought back to reality when I look at the price tag
 
Ralph this is an opinion thread. Some people hate wrasses but you and I find them really lovely and interesting. Other fish catch people's eye. Some spend a few bucks on their fish. Others a few thousand. Some spend the money to put gas in their car and pass the oil change marker by 2 grand and others spend that number in dollars on performance parts for something that runs perfectly fine.
It's all what ya want. What floats your boat. Your fancy. By what ya want with your money (and send me a pic darn it!)
I like to spend money buying water changes and pork chops

OK, the horse itself may be cheaper, but what about boarding/feeding/maintaining. Not ever close....JUST SAYIN'.

We are doing a group buy on the My Miami from him right now for an eye on R2R.com.

1 eye is listed for 1,000 dollars on his site. I think we are doing around 600 between 4 or 5 people.

Now..... That does look good. But, that isn't what I normally see. i'll be in Dallas next tuesday. Maybe you could meet me at the airport and bring me a little piece. Ha!!! Just kidding. Looks awesome I have to say.
 
I'd say this thread is akin to the Ford vs. Chevy debate. My opinion is that there are very boring and drab chalices, as well as acros, and every other type of coral. But, there are also some very striking pieces, as well. Red Planet acro, for one, is one of my favorite, while the tricolor acros don't really do it for me. I really love the chalices with a lot of color contrast, but definitely can't justify paying a couple hundred bucks for a single eye.

Next thing you know, we'll have people with bumper stickers of Calvin peeing on an acro colony. ;)
