I still don't get it! Chalices

personally, I think chalice is pretty cool... i like looking at a piece of coral that looks like a 3k zoomed in under a microscope of bacteria or something...

That's a great description! My wife says most of them look like diseased flesh.

What i think is the coolest factor about a chalice is how it encrust over the rock. I think what a lot of people are trying to say is thy want one and there mad that they cost so much

I don't get chalices, either. I don't have any desire for them, but I can tell you that it's not about cost.

Yes, I have a bright red one. It kills everything in the area and grows faster than I'd like. If I could cut it out of the tank easily, I would. It simply has no value to me.

My only issue with Chalices is that without strong actinic supplementations... they dont look NEARLY as impressive as they do in the pictures posted above.

Well... that and the fact you have to take out a loan to get a quarter inch piece of a cool specimen.
