I still don't get it! Chalices

$400 an eye the last time I checked. I don't see any currently for sale, but you'll see it is the sample pic for their chalice section.

The only chalice I know with sweepers is the hollywood stunner, and I have a hard time believing it's really a chalice. Most of the really nice chalice do not have sweepers.

Here is another frag i got from Rit. Here is a mother colony from Ktar.

Mine has yet to show any colors like that. Also, it is one of the slowest growing corals on the planet, IME.

The Miami Hurricane/Tyree Pumpkin Patch have long tentacles. Not sure if they would be classified as sweepers, however. I've seen 5-6 inch long ones on my colonies.

Yeah I have one that has some serious sweepers. Don't know what it's called.

I was never big into chalice, although I own a few pieces, but it would be nice to have some of the colorful ones as addition to the tank if the price is reasonable. I completely agree that the colorful ones are more expensive (just like anything else), but anything commanding a price tag in the hundreds is really ridiculous imo.

+1. I think it is the fastest growing too.

I have a small frag of Acid trip. Although it is still very mall but it looks much nicer than those photos. There is no way it is a acid trip. These people use the popular chalice name to attract buyers

Paul,
Thanh is correct. It is the same name but not the same coral. Not bad, but you are not getting the Tropicorium coral.

to each their own.
i absolutely loved my chalices but then i started collecting them in '06 when acans were still the "it" coral. acans were not that interesting to me.
