I want a frag tank.. Suggestions welcome.

4x2 foot is a good size for working over. If you want to grow frags then the Low Boy 50 gal is fine.

Only if you want to grow out colony’s or taller corals will you need a deeper tank.

You will be hard pressed to beat a Low Boy on cost. Just plan on buying an overflow & drill it yourself. There are overflow kits that include the Diamond bit, template & overflow. You can buy a used sump, or use a 40 breeder or similar. Lots of ways to do it. Just depends on your preferences. No matter what you get, you’ll eventually go bigger!

Now I just need to find one.. I think that's the best bet for now.

The 80 gallon frag tanks are still hard to find though someone on Facebook was selling one not too long ago for $350. I had to pay almost double that last year to get a new one.

I think Creation Pet used to stock the low boys? I would call around to see. If buying from Petco, try to wait for a sale, they generally do one on tanks a few times a year. The 40's and 60's aren't as heavily discounted, but still worth it.

I think the Petco sales are 3 times a year. It's dollar per gallon up to 40 or 50. Then half price for bigger sizes.

Yeah they stopped doing the buck a gallon sale. That 60 is on sale for about 1/3 off right now. I saw it during the week and it turned my head. Still like the low boy better though. I will call them, thank you so much!

Aqueon is the old all-glass-aquarium brand. Quality is fine, similar to a marineland. Pay attention on the small 10g-20g tanks because they can have some sloppy work but the bigger stuff has good warranties and a cheap price.
