should i drip aclimate each?

They should be in water and they should be acclimated just like any other snail. It will not kill them.

Well,

some snails and other crustaceans do well when shipped damp - just the 'do not float' idea is ehhh id10tic

I would float some kind of container with tank water so you can pick out the dead ones and not cause a spike.

yea i was planning on that one, i think there will be quite a few deads altho i see alot of movement.

Several years ago, I purchased snails off ebay and they came just as you described. The seller suggested just as au01st did. I placed poured them out of the bag into a container of saltwater and watched for movement. As they started moving around I placed them in the tank. Worked pretty well and only had lost maybe 8 - 10 snails out of the three hundred that were shipped.

wow.. that seems like a pretty low die off rate..

I know, I expected to lose way more than that, but that was all I threw away. I did have the occasional dead snail after a few months, but I was totally surprised at the survival rate coming in just damp.

I ordered some a few months back. The order was for 25 and they shipped 32. I placed them in a bowl, added water and wathced. I had 31 live ones. I just put them in the tank and they were fine.

Next time you are bored, talk to John Maloney at Reef Cleaners. They are the best.

well out of the 50 diff snails i think i had like two dead ones in total. The rest are in the tank now climbing over the sand and glass, some are burrowing.
