astra (sp?) they are fine to have in your tank as long as they are not blue and red.

Thanks boss. This one is all white with black stripe on the top. What is the danger with the blue/red ones?

zoa eaters

Looks like an asterina star to me. I dont care for them personally and banish any I see to the sump. I dont care what color they are. They will eat "decaying" coral flesh but I swear they straight up munched down a forest of my zoas.....Im not sayin....Im just sayin.

LOL Well that is the only one I have seen and he is so small he would just ride the current back in to the tank. LOL But, maybe while mama isn't looking one day I will move him. She thinks he is cute. LOL

I have a bunch in my tank too, pretty harmless little grazers, good harley shrimp food too, lol.

Yep, Asterina. And pretty much what everyone else says. Most of them are harmless, the ones with a bit of red are coral munchers, but the rest eat film algae.

Some consider them a pest, some don't care either way. I'm in the latter group.

If you don't like 'em, remove 'em. If you don't mind either way... let it be.

Well unless it is a bad thing I prefer to leave it. Besides, if I remove it my wife might just remove me!!!!! LOL
