if it is a starfish you can just simply pick them off the glass with your hands

but I have a sand sifter??? I have a bunch of these little stars are they good or bad?

Some of them will eat zoas most of them are harmless . I got a lot of them before , bought a harlequin shrimp and put my sand shifting starfish in the sump . The harlequin shrimp wiped them all out in couple months
