Hey all,

I currently have a 65 gallon with a 20 or so fuge. It's been set up for a little over a year. I have two black and white clowns from Buds, a Melanarus and a Flameback Pygmy Angel as well as a goby/pistol combo. I was thinking about adding another fish and was looking for some suggestions.

I love the purple pseudo but man what a terror in a tank. I was reading about the orchid dottyback and some folks seem to think they arent as bad. Any oppinions on them? They also say dont keep with wrasses, would it bother the Melanarus?

Truthfully I like the pop of color, any other fish anyone can think of that would give a nice splash of color? I wouldn't mind some yellow but don't want to get a yellow tang and would like to keep the fish somewhere on the smaller side. Also would it be possible to add another pygmy angel or would they terrorize each other. My flameback is pretty mellow and just follows the Melanrus around all day but I am thinking another pygmy in there would be an isse.

Thanks in advance for any advise and Merry Christmas everybody!

I do have corals mostly zoas but also three Duncan's some hammer and frogspawn as well as a leather and a Green Bubble Tip Anenome. I thought about the midas blenny but wanted a fish that would be a bit more free swimming. I also wanted a mandarin but while I see a ton of coepods and amphipods in the sump I dont see any in the main tank (melanarus??) and think that would be pretty irresponable of me to add a mandarin at this point.

Any idea if a the orchid dottyback would fight with the melanarus? Mainly I like the idea of being able to see him from clear across the room when I look at the tank due to the vibrant color.
Thanks so much..

I have a Midas blenny and he stays out all day. If I ever see him not swimming hes normally just perched on top of a rock or chalice (its normally when my hands are in the tank though). He even swims around for a while after lights are out.

Suggestions I would add are one of the hawk fish. I've always liked them a lot. Yellow wrasse are very cool looking too. Just be sure you have a top on the tank as they will go carpet surfing.

How about the red manadarin...but you need to be sure you have a large copepod population.

most of these fish are way too big for a 65 gallon tank

with the melanurus there is no way of having enough pods to support both

for a smaller yellow fish take a look at a yellow assessor...a royal gramma is a simple small fish that would add some color as well

Hi Guys,

I actually added a Neon Dottyback. He was not happy with the Flameback Angel at first but they have since settled down. I was told the Melanarus would not eat copepods as they are to small and would only eat the amphipods in the tank. Any oppinions on it?

Thanks so much for all the input. I did not go for the Angels mentioned above as I also thought my tank would not be large enough for them.
