Hey
I came across this today & I would love to buy a small peice to start it in my tank. Even though the price is not bad on several of the sites I have found it on, shipping is high so there goes me ordering any.

Cespitularia is super iffy a lot of times.. It honestly has been a long time since I have seen any.. A lot of people claim to have "blue xenia" but its usually not Cespit.

That stuff will be fine then BAM!! Melt city..

Darn :( that figures. Glad you told me though. I was looking at a
Tyree Limited Edition Toadstool Leather -- Neon Green
Those are really pretty & hardy too. If it just wasnt for the high shipping darn it!

Lots of sponsors have Green toadstool.. Creation had some last time I was there..

I have a toadstool although I'm not sure what type. It has yellow on the tips of the tentacles. I will definitely check out Creation to see if they have any neon green ones. Next month of course lol
After I pay off some of the tickets I aquired lately :(
Thanks for the info Ansley

I'm trying to figure out what to do with my tyree neon green toadie. It is about the size of a saucer plate now. Getting a little big, don't really feel like fragging it up. Thinking about shoving it in the bank of the tank or just selling it. Of course it wouldn't be cheap since it is huge. I bought it and we nicknamed it booger because it literally looked like someone smeared a booger on a disc. Booger has all grown up. :D

OMG :lol2:Booger I like it! Lemme know if you do decide to sell it & I will see what I can do. I bet Booger is pretty

Kind of an older picture. He is huge now. Almost touching the candy cane, all the way up to the ice tort, completely covers the tyree war coral, heh. I gotta make a decision soon, I may just frag some of em off, it's easy enough, I just didn't feel like dealing with the toothpick and disc fun that comes with fragging toadies. I will let you know what I do when I finally decide this weekend.

I saw the same auction on ebay. I thought about buying it, but again, the shipping.

Charlie gave me a piece back in January, but it melted over the course of a month. I think the trick it to get a large enough frag, let it heal in the native tank, and then transport to a new tank.

The only Blue Xenia I ever got that did well was from Jin. it looked great, doubled in size the first two months and was a very pretty coral even under the CF lighting I had on the tank at the time. It was after my tank cracked that I lost it.

I'd like to try this coral again sometime.

I have xenia, but not the blue. It is blue green and pink and goldish.. Kinda hard to explain, but it does well in my 110 but not so well in my 24g seahorse tank :(

Booger is huge and awesome seen in person and is definitely big!would make an amazing center piece!

If you frag that I will buy one from you. I've been wanting a neon green toadstool for a while.

It is a tempramental coral. No rhyme or reason why it thrives or dies, as it flourished and did well in my 14g biocube with no skimmer at all (after spending 2 weeks in a 5g mini-bow while I set up the biocube), but melted in my 30g under what I'd consider MUCH more favorable conditions..

Xenia tends to like a bit of grunge in the water. That may be why.

It doesn't travel well either. Hates to be shipped. Too much temperature swing one way or the other will cause it to melt down too.

At one time it was the weed of the reef aquarium trade - once a colony takes off, it can become invasive, so people had lots to give/trade/sell. Now, we don't see it as often. Probably as people got more astute with their water quality, the Xenia didn't like it.

Jody, I've sent you a PM about the specie you're looking for.

What would you sell the whole thing for :D

LOL, I'm not sure the wife will let me sell the whole thing. I will have to check with the boss. I will get back to you all when I decide what to do, thinking of just making some reasonably priced frags of it and keeping a good portion as a mother.

I can certainally understand the Boss not wanting to part with Booger. I wouldnt either :)
I will definitely buy one of those frags though so please let me know when you make some
