I have never had any problems with this tank/sump for the month I've had it until today when I went in there and the water level was about an inch or two above normal. I started worrying about overflow. I moved the drain pipe up the wall so there wasn't the U bend at the bottom and after a bit it drained. Loud. Very loud. It has continued to do that all day and my son had to move out of his room just now because of it. My husband sleep lighter than a bird and will nag me all night. Anyone with any ideas? No, better yet, answers?

Uncertain exactly how it's configured, but Danny Bradley suggested I push tubing (think tank vacuum hose) as far down the overflow pipe as need be to quiet it.

It kept me from chunking my whole system....

It's gravity so it just comes out the back down the pipe and clips onto the top of a pipe that is attached to the top of the sump. not anything to really push. It was fine until today. weird.

Akopley, i agree, not sure how she has it arranged, a pic would most definitely be helpful. I have a semi loud tank, but they way it was drilled I really had no choice in the matter but figured out how to keep it quiet, sorta, just hear the sound of water falling, which helps me sleep, but also freaks me out when I wake up thinkin it is raining or its out of water lol

but back to yours, a pic would be of great assistance to us in diagnosing your dilemma...

Yeah the U kinda threw me off too.

Mine gets very loud when the water level gets too low.
