Hey all , just introducing myself , my wife & I live in Conyers , and love our multiple tanks and all the diversity that comes along with keeping fw &sw aquariums.
Rite now my newest project is a 12G flat back hex tank (acrylic) with a 1g hob fuge , its got a little over a lb of live rock per gallon so after the live sand and rock my total water volume is about 8.5g , I'm not using a protein skimmer because its just tooo small to be efficient.
Lighting the fuge is 9x.20w white 6,500L led positioned to shine through the front side of the fuge so not to grow algae on my aquarium , I think it should grow micro algae just fine.
Lighting the tank I have a clip on led 6x3w led 4w12,000&2 blue456 with 60Degree focus lenses to keep scatter down.
I realize that doesn't seem like a lot , but the tanks depth is only 12" and the few coral I have thus far are sitting on live rock so some things are 7-8" away its more than sufficient.
The inhabitants are a clown goby , an oc clown , a tiger pistol shrimp , 2 sexy shrimp 2 turbo snails, a 3"x4" zoanthia
A riccordia mushroom and 3 small dime size mushrooms that aren't attached that a friend gave me yesterday 2xblue , 1xred I'm trying to decide if the place they are located in to much light (only time will tell)
The only issue I seem to have is lack of micro algae , iv been to blue planet 3 weeks now in a row , all the petco's I'm aware of usually only have a clump or 2 of gracilaria which looks ok but isn't my first choice in my fuge , I called
premier aquatics and they were out , what happened to being able to go to the LfS and getting a cup full for 2-3$ I found some on ebay , a golfball size piece for 12$ seems a little steep for algae.
If anyone needs to trim there cheato soon please inform me or if you know of a fs in the metro that has some please share the information , Thankyou for your help .
I'm looking forward to future posts.

First off...welcome!!!! This is a great group of guys and gals, if you ever have any questions ask away :)

Second off I think we would all like to see some pictures ;).

I'm sure someone will step up with some chaeto or at least know where to get some in your area. It's a bit of a drive but nemo's in lilburn had some, if you were on the west side I20 I'd drop some off next time I went to my sisters but I never go east

Welcome to the ARC and if you need chaeto maybe you should post it in the WTB section of the forum. A lot of reefers keep it and are glad to share or sell. BTW pictures are a must :)

Welcome! Sounds like a nice little setup. What are you using for filtration and water flow. Pictures are a must! :D

Live rock is my filter with the help of a small power head 60gph keeping things stirring and a hob refugeum (not a hob filter but looks like 1 a little just larger volume , uses power head to pump water in) I'll snap you all a photo later today , I just did a water change and made it cloudy.
As for cheato I do not really need it , just find it odd its such a hot item as of late.
A friend and fellow member of (aquariumforum.com) sent me a algae pack that should be delivered via USPS today(if it doesn't most likely die in the post office) there is no cheato coming but 3 bags containing calurpea
Racemosa michrophisia , small grape , for the fuge (it is extremely invasive and doesn't go sexual (won't die , requires h202 injection to kill it in the tank , but won't spread via water column) the other 2 bags are tank safe varieties
racemosa(flat grape) and prolifera so its going to be a wile I think but I do like cheato because it grows fast with moderate light but they all do there job.
Thanks for the welcomes pics 2 come.
