Does anyone here have an in wall tank? My preference is to make the tank part of the house since I'll be in this one for the foreseeable future. When my wife and I were shopping for homes a few years ago having a tank built into the home was on the table if we purchased a new home. Alas, fate was cruel as she fell in love with an older home... Happy wife = happy life, so she usually gets what she wants
.
I was initially planning to put the tank in one of the first floor rooms and make a false wall to give it the appearance of an in wall tank... which would be in my comfort zone. I was going to plumb everything to the basement garage but my parents recently retired and accepted our offer of living with us. They are of course occupying the basement now and do not want some tank equipment in their garage. So I would have to do an under tank sump and it's not my first preference but I could live with it. So my wife suggested a location that I think will work really well but really needs to be in the wall itself to make it work. This wall is adjacent to our 1st floor garage and there is even a storage room in there that will work as a mechanical room for the tank.
I'm going to get a contractor to do the work but I would love to hear from anyone that has tried this endeavor or has some knowledge of best practices/ lessons learned. Thank you in advance.
