Does anyone know the website to instant ocean? I've tryed http://www.instantocean.com">www.instantocean.com</a> but it doesn't seem to work. I'm getting an error. I need to contact them concerning a box of reef crystal I got. I tested my water and it shows that I have really high ALK. last I checked I was at 13 dkh and 14.5 the day before that. At first I thought it was my calcium reactor that went crazy on me so I shut it down. Then I talked to Dave and he advised me to shuffle up the bag of salt really good before I mix my water due to the fact that the mix can settle. So I mixed the bag up really good and went about making my new water for a WC. Well 12 hours after the salt has been mixing, I decided to test that new salt water for it's ALK. Turns out the ALK. in the new water is 19.5 DKH!!!

For those that are using the reef crystals and have notice coral dieing. Please check your new salt water to confirm. I'm trying to get in touch with them right now with no luck of finding a contact info. If anyone knows where I may find their phone number are e-mail address, please shoot it my way.

Thanks,
Hoang

I've used Reef Crystal for about a year myself and have never come across something like this. I can understand high as in maybe 11-12 dkh. But 19.5 dkh?!?! I used the Salifert test kit BTW.

I used to have alk at 17 at some point in time, so I let it dropped back to 11 over 2 weeks. I thought I was doing something wrong at that time....now I know why...

One time I was not paying attention to my GEO 612 in my 100 gallon and my alk went to 18! Turned off the reactor and did a couple water changes. Nothing got hurt, thank gosh.
