I would try this with SPS but....
Almost a year ago I started a 3 gallon Nano for my wife. Just wanted a couple if fish for her to baby. I bought a small LED desk light. Not intended for aquariums but does a nice job of lighting the tank.
About 6 months ago a red mushroom broke free of a colony in my 125 so I threw it in the Nano just to see how it would do. As of today it is still doing fine. Hasn't gotten huge or anything but is surviving well. Kind of proves that mushrooms need little when it comes to lighting.
