Hey everyone. My name is Butch and I'm a fish-o-holic! :D I have been keeping fish on and off for quite a few years, mostly cichlids, and have just made the switch over to saltwater (not completely). I revived/updated an old 5.5g AIO (I know, not the best tank to start with) added some LR, LS, a hermit crab and yellow tail damsel and love the way it looks. I need to add more LR this weekend, but I am going to let things settle in from there.

I have always wanted to do a setup like this and am so glad I did. I'm looking forward to learning from all of you.

There are 3 guys in Warner robins and 2 in cochran, and a couple in perry as well. I run a sub group called middle ga reefers and one day we will actually do somehting. You have to be a paid memeber to join it though. Ask away there are plenty here that are eager to help.

Welcome Butch, the ARC is a source of great information with awesome people. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your tank!

Thanks for all the warn welcomes. I've been lurking here since may of last year, but figured I would finally post a little about me and pay my dues since I officially have a saltwater set up. Ohhh, and I almost forgot...pictures.

But first, the equipment list:

AGA 5.5 gallon AIO
Zoo Med 10W 50/50 mini CF bulb
Maxi-Jet 400
Tetra 50W pre-set heater
DIY Media rack (purgeon, carbon and filter floss)
4 lbs of LR (Fuji and Tonga) I need to buy another 4 lbs
8 lbs of Natures Ocean Live Reef Sand 1.5" deep
5 gallons of Carib Sea Sea Pure Water

Fish:

Yellow Tail Damsel
Blue Legged Hermit

I am debating on either adding another CF 50/50 bulb or going with a DIY LED kit like this:

or an LED set up like this:

I want to have the ability to add high light corals in the future so I am leaning towards they DIY LED kit.

What do you guys think?
