is any one on?

always!! OK so what can you tell me about reef tanks. I am going to be honest. I didnt know that they were different then all fish. I bet ya can tell I am new

What type of corals would you like to keep in your reef tank? From there we can start to work on what all you need or want.

You should buy a book. I like both of these.

Make sure to research before you buy. Start out with soft coral, zoanthids, mushrooms, green star polyps and xenia. Many people on this forum regularly give many of these away because they grow like weeds.

i know this sounds bad. but i really dont know. I want something thats easy. But i want it to be colorful. My tank is so dull. I really am not sure of all the corals out there. I do know i would like a brian coral and maybe a leather. Also mushrooms.

+1 on both of these books. The Conscientious Marine Aquarist was my first book on saltwater tanks and I still love to look back through it.

What kind of lights and filtration are you using. I would wait on the brain until you make sure you can keep some of the easier corals alive.

I would say that you should probably have a protein skimmer. Are you using a sump?

no do i need one? And what exactly do they do? I am so sorry that I am completely lost> i should have done more research before getting into this hobby. But I dont regret anything
