On my corner reef I have a marineland insump 100 and it was a great skimmer. About 2 years ago I broke a panel in my sump on accident and instead of fixing it, I just went without a skimmer for about a year and a half. I finally broke down my sump and redid everything so it would work again. I cleaned my skimmer very well and then ran it with vinegar water to get the parts that I couldn't reach. It's been about 6 months since then and I feel like my skimmer is barely producing 10% of the bubbles that it used to.. It is still producing a good amount of skimmate, but the bubble chamber seems way less bubbly...

Ideas? I will post pictures in a few, work is running late today.

I've also had to adjust my skimmer, almost weekly, or my skimmate comes out too fast and very watery filling the cup in about 20 seconds or no skimmate comes out at all. The water level in this chamber is constant.

anyone with experience with this skimmer?

i have that exact skimmer if yours is like mine its very sensitive to water level changes i have my sump marked with tape at the exact level where the water needs to be lol

I dont have your skimmer, but it does sound like its time to give the pump and skimmer a vinegar bath. I try and do this every other month on mine (at least the pump).
