Or is there a local glass shop that anyone knows of that offers this service?

Ah... so no ideas?

Anyone ever tried cerium oxide? (This tank is dry/empty so I don't need to be concerned with livestock occupants.)

Wondered if anyone had ever tried using this and if it's successful (before I attempt to locate and buy some).

This story http://www.fitchfamily.com/glass.html">here</a> seems to indicate sucess in using this stuff.

(still researching......... may find something else)

I'll show you the scratch that Michelle saw today.....it's not coming out with compound. It catches your fingernail.

Tank will be ok to use I'm sure.

Let me know what treatment you settle on, then you can teach me how to buff my scratches

i have cerium oxide. havent tried it yet. You will need the correct applicator for it, you can get one that will fit a power drill. I think the applicator is $15-$20?

I honestly have yet to find something that takes scratches out of glass. Let me know if you find one that works! There are a lot of snake oil products sold out there that advertise they remove scratches from glass... that I've tried... they don't :).

Well, I'm told that if you can *feel* the scratch with your fingernail, it can't be buffed, so doubt I'll even try. Scratch is short (less than 1"), so I guess we'll just let it be. (Gonna bug the heck out of the perfectionist me me though... grrrrrr)
