I was moving some frags around my tank and noticed this calcium build up around my candy cane. I know the pictures are horrible but I only have my cell phone camera at the moment. It starts as a spiral but has become a straighter. It has a cover like a worm or snail and has two rows or bristles going down the "shell". Any thoughts what this could be?

Its not a vermitid snail. the spines (which are not large, just pointy) are along the tube which is attached along its length to the coral stalk. It is not mobile.

can't really see anything in the picture... I had to go off your description above..

do you have a clear picture (in focus?)

my camera didn't survive the last international flight i took... And my cell phone thinks its high tech to even have a camera. Picture is horrible, but its the best I can get. I'll see if I can sneak up on it tonight, I positioned the frag so I can keep an eye on it. I used paint to outline the shape... perhaps that will help someone...
