Is this aiptasia?

Got this new little rock with several zoas on it. Checking it out after everything started to open, I saw this translucent wavy thing in one of the crevasses of the rock:

Is this aiptasia, or am I just paranoid?

That's what I was afraid of Can I just remove the rock and scrape it off real good?

I hate those nasty lil guys. Good thing is you just put it in there so it hasn't had time to spread. I would get some aiptasia x as soon as possible and blast him. They will spread like wildfire if you let them.

You can remove it manually if it isn't too deep in the crevice. Usually they are way down in there though. If you leave even a tiny piece it will grow back and spread.

What I would do:
Get a small container of tank water. Pull the frag. Hold it in whatever position puts the aiptsia/crevice at the lowest point to keep the zoas safe. With a syringe, flush a few drops of pure bleach or hydrogen peroxide in the crevice. Wait a 15-30 seconds. Rinse in the separate tank water. Put back in display.

Thanks. I'll definitely try that.

I have a peppermint shrimp, by the way. Not sure if it eats aiptasia or not, but I've never had any. May be coincidence. Might not be. Either way, would I be playing with fire to let it sit overnight and see if the shrimp eats any of it?

If you can, you could just entomb it in superglue. That's what I do.

Peppermint shrimp work great in my tank. My sump has a healthy colony of the little nasties, but I never see any in my display since I added the shrimp.

Added two to my tank. Problem was they were a nice snack for my yellow choris wrasse before they every had a chance to snack on those dirty devils.

I always keep a couple of these, and I have not seen an aptasia in years........but must be the correct species!

Aiptasia x works great. Thats what ive used.

So, apparently my shrimp likes him some aiptasia. I haven't seen even a hint</em> of aiptasia since the lights came on today. Maybe that's why I've never seen any in my tank.
