I'm looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-48-216W-T5-AQUARIUM-LIGHT-FIXTURE-REEF-FISH-TANK-/150603360269?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2310a8e80d#ht_4464wt_792">this.</a>

I currently have a 4x65w PC light.

Odyssea...
If you have good fire insurance and no kids - go for it.

lol....ok, fine...

guess i'll just order new bulbs for this poor old thing and call it a day.

I have an Odyssea and have had no fires yet lol. I replaced the lights with ATI's, but other than that I have been pretty happy with my purchase so far. I have a Odyssea 24" T5 24w x 4 and would recommend it to someone on a budget.

the fire issues with the lights was from underpowered ballasts, but that issue has been addressed and they are fine now. however they do come with the cheapest bulbs made, replace them and youll be fine

Also I would like to point out, if you plan on getting new lights with your fixture, take the cost of them into account. I know my ATI bulbs were about $20 each and had to get 4 new ones, so my $65 fixture ended up being $145, which was the price of the higher end fixtures, so I probably should've just gone with that in the first place lol.

I have learned to not buy anything off of ebay. I bought a protien skimmer for my first tank...piece of crap! You're better off to just spend the extra money and go with a good fixture! Aquaticlife is the best fixture I have ever had!

Definitely have to be careful on ebay, but if you buy it from a big seller they are usually reputable plus everything is backed by ebays gauruntee so no worries there.

Even after you replace the bulbs, I've read a number of posts from Odyssea owners who said the timers crapped out very soon after purchase also.

I can't speak for others obviously, but I have had 0 issues with mine over the last 4 months. If you are planning on getting new lights with a cheaper fixture, just get a better fixture to start with and you can avoid any of this.

Check Sunslighting website. They sell the same fixtures at good prices. Texhorns98 bought a 48 inch model like these and his has worked perfect! Sunslighting seems to have good customer service and their prices on their units are good. This looks like the same Aquatraders unit. I'm going to purchase a 48 inch one later this summer. My research with the newer models has turned up far more positives than the older ones. They have any size...check out their website.
