This Sunkist mushroom was on the same rock with red hairy mushroom and now the whole mouth is gone.

Is this goner? I never owned mushrooms before for long time so I don’t know if I should leave it or dump it?

Do you have any idea what happened to it? How long between the two photos?

Personally I would leave it. Corals are incredibly resilient, and I’ve seen them come back from the brink of death time and time again. Seems like there’s plenty enough left for it to recover if tank conditions are good.

Looking back at some photos, it looks like it started when I changed out the rocks between the tank on the June 1st? Looks like very slow death. -.-;

June 1st. Changed the main rock.

And I see it June 5th as the mouth seems to gotten little effected?

I didn’t know that red hairy mushrooms will kill other mushrooms and the research proved that is the case and it also mentioned it does it very slowly. I knew mushrooms were invasive but I didnt know they kill each other.

This one’s mouth is completely gone. I doubt it will come back. But I’m going to just leave it I guess. I don’t have any activated carbon in any of the tank atm. I’ll just let it be.
