is this something i should worry about?

well, i gavea try at dremelling it but decided just to chunk the whole coral..iknow me and im too anal to not chunk it and have the chance of it spreading..that sucks too cause that was one of my favorite corals..does anyone know the name of that coral so i can see about getting another piece somewhere?

I got a frag of a really nice LE Tyree Favia in a couple weeks ago, and it had two tiny strands of Bryopsis on the frag plug and a small piece of the coral skeleton. I ended up puling the frag off the disk it was on, and cutting about 50% of that frag off because of it.

yeah i just chunked it..i had gotten that coral for $5 from TIm when he was moving out..can you tell what tyoe of coral that is?

Looks more like a bit of feather caulerpa to me. ::shrug::

Bryposis... Get rid of it as quick as you can. I've battled it twice and won. In honesty, it wasn't that bad... Gelidium on the other hand? Forget it. You'll *NEVER* get rid of that crap.

I have the same coral and when it grows out I will hook you up. Mine came from Tim also kinda reddish purple with gold dust like spots on it, correct? They are slow growers but when I frag it I will definitely hook you up minus the bryopsis.

ok ok enough of the feather caulerpa talk lol..i may have panicked but took the advice of those on at the time...i feel guilty about chunking the coral but didnt want to infect the tank either :(
