ya... setting up a frag tank and just now realizing how much cost will REALLY be involved haha


so... what are some projects you guys started, only to figure out it was going to cost a lot more to do it right ?

How about every project I've ever started! My most recent is the yard. Just had a bunch of mulch delivered and now I realize how much I actually need...

I just did the same thing... set up a frag tank (22.5g) and put 4x24 T5HOs over it... only to learn last night that I'm getting only about 100 PAR at the corals (7 inches under the lights). Back to the lighting drawing board.

Going from a 210 gallon tank to a 300. Didn't account for having to go from LB mini pendants to LB large pendants (+$475), then decided on black substrate (+$240).

Got a free CA reactor, and thought, "Hey, this won't cost as much as I originally thought!" I later discovered that the reactor was pretty much the cheapest piece, lol.
