I called my LFS two months ago and told them to order me a chevron tang. Well I get a phone call yesterday at 5.30 from Larry to come get my fish that he had two that came in. Man he are she is so pretty. Very healthy eats anything that I feed the tank. My sail fin didn’t care for the chevron at first but he’s took him and there getting along fine. WOOHOO.

Not at all. Very docile. Just dont get one TOO small. They have enormous metabolic needs when tiny, and too often perish.

Posted Pics. Hope I did it right!

What a beautiful fish. You might consider tossing some macro algae in the display so he can munch throughout the day. You would obviously need to add more every few days but it will help him tremendously as would an established fuge.

Thanks for the info. I have both in the tank. I have sea weed in a sea weed net that the tangs can pick at when ever they want and have 30 gallon fuge thats full.

Chevrons don't have the proper mouth structure to tear away larger fibrous algaes like most macroalgaes. Instead, the will brush microalgae and diatoms and "suck" debris off the substrate.

Beautiful specimen :) Rest of the tank looks pretty good too!

Thanks. I guess I could take some pics of the whole tank and post them. All my acros are up top from where I took the pics of the chevron. I’m proud of my tank it’s only been in the making for a little over a year and I’m out of room. Time for a bigger tank LOL. I just don’t want to bother it it’s doing so well.
