JBD's cube upgrade

Continued review of the AI Prime. I am still liking the Prime. I have increased my light level up 5% each week or so. Currently at 65%. Corals seem to be more normal. My zoas aren't reaching anymore. I am going to stop here for a little while longer.

Anyone know why my AI prime keeps losing connection? I suspect it is my router. Maybe there is a setting in the router configuration? I have to cut the power to the AI to restore connectivity. Maybe I should map/reserve a specific IP address for the unit? I try to connect once or twice a week. It seems like if I go several days without connecting, I run into this problem.

Earlier this week, I spent some time beginning the construction of my new water change system. It is going to be two 40 breeders stacked on top of one another. As of now, I have the dimensional lumber cut to size and most of my half-lap joints cut. I'm hoping to complete the half-lap joints and begin the glue up and assembly process today. Stay tuned for pictures!

I ordered some 1/2" gate valves for a manifold. The Jebao DC 6000 pump I am using has plenty of power to run the return lines and my manifold. I'm looking forward to getting rid of the maxijet pump and incorporating the UV sterilizer. I'll have one spare manifold port which I anticipate using for a refugium or to run bio-pellets down the road. My gate valves are scheduled for delivery on Monday, so this may be a project for next weekend.

I have lots of flow now pumping at 50% power. I only need 3-400 gallons to fuel the reactors. If I lose some to the DT, I should still be fine.

F!!!!

Aqueon's stat sheet says not tempered. I did the polarized lense trick. It also suggested non tempered....

Well, I wasn't actually planning to use two 40B's until I built out my larger DT, so I guess not all is a loss.

Here is a picture of the finished stand.

And here It is making water.

FWIW, I found a 1/2" diamond bit at Home Depot which was the size needed for the float valve fitting.

I came home and was nervous about what I would find. No leaks in the RO/DI storage tank.

I filled my first RO/DI container with water from storage. It was more gratifying that I anticipated. To prevent water from staying in the hose 24/7, I drilled a small siphon break near the barb fitting. I thought I might have to cover the hole with my finger during use, but no, it acts like a Venturi and just sucks air.

Thanks!

My manifold parts arrived yesterday. So that project will be a GO once I find some time.

A couple weeks ago, I ordered some stuff to make a DIY ATO. The basic parts include a relay, an arduino board I have laying around, and a float switch. Maybe I will get this going soon as well.

Completed my first water change with the new water change station. Because my 2nd 40B exploded, I think for now, I am going to commit to the 20H for making SW. That would give me the ability to do about a 50% water change until my larger tank is setup.

Siphoning water out of the 20H sucked! LOL, see what I did there?

So I guess, for now, I will put a drain in the 20 and situate it into a more permanent position.

I missed the 2nd page of this thread and just posted (from status on 1-10-16)

A short while ago Luke posted an article including certain color blends used on the XR30 pros. The article was pretty informative, and because I am not married to my current LED settings, I decided to copy one of the suggested blends and try it on my tank.

The control features of the AI LEDs appears very similar to those of the Radions... I wonder why?!

Anyways, I prorated all the values to arrive at this blend. It's supposed to be the AB+ color blend. I definitely like it better visually when compared to my previous blend. I guess we'll see how things go.
