Jebo WP40 Powerhead - anyone using it?

I have 5 koralia 1400s in my tank now that are on a wave maker that I don't use because of the sound when the pumps hard start. With this one pump I could easily remove three koralia. I already have a second wp that should show up in the next day or so and with it I''ll remove the rest of the koralias and be running two wp-40 in my 120.

It seems these can be controller with the right cable. This is supposed to work with the Reef Angel and Apex controllers. A bit pricey at $25 each.

Anyone have theirs on timers? If so how often do they cut off and back on. If so have you had any problems with the pump? I want to have my two on 30 min intervals.

I read on RC that a few people were having issues when they position their pump vertical to the glass the impeller would not spin. There was some speculation that the mounting magnet was interfering with the motor. This was coming from only two people though.

not directly up or down, i guess perpendicular to the glass

Ahh i see. Yeah that actually is a pretty serious issue. I've never understood why these foreign companies insist on not trouble shooting and improving products. Just does not make sense to me.

I wonder if it has the same problem with the suction cup feet on instead of the magnet?

I guess you have to run it slightly angled or on its side against the back glass?

Would anyone see a problem with hooking two of these up to a Hydor Koralia Smart Wave Pump Controller? I would be running them on voltage controllers also.

I have a smart wave to but I honestly wouldn't worry about hooking it up to it the smartwave.... You are better off just timing it out and turning them on together at dif times if you want to alternate them.... Just out of curiosity what size tank are you putting them on?

Yea but the wp25 is aimed at small tanks with an output max of about 800-850 gph I have wayyyyy more than that in my 90 and def would not put them in a 120!!!! U would need like 6 just to be enough flow for tank life to really flourish

I bought two WP40's in the group buy for my 120. I was just relaying the info about the WP25's because up to this point they have not confirmed a release date. I thought others would be interested. Sorry for the confusion.

Not sure if you considered adding 2 but if you did and timed them both just right I'm sure you would have amazing flow in a 40B!!!! Good luck with the build though

I'm going to try the WP40 on my 65g but I have a feeling I'll be moving to a WP25 eventually

I heard ppl have been putting adjustable voltage laptop ac adapters on them and have been lowering the max gph to whatever they want pretty much... You should check that out too... I also heard of ppl modding them for controllers but don't really know how much work is required to do so!

Open the box. Tie the 24v supply wires together. The remaining wire gets 0-5vdc analog signal. Negative analog from controller goes to v-. The board is labeled in English. Not hard to figure out.

Just remember most controllers are 0-10vdc analog. You will need to set it to 50% max speed not to exceed 5vdc.
