Kayak/HoneyB 92 Corner Official Tank Build!

18 in? That will make for one heck of a top canopy. Considering it will be in the livingroom it would be nice to not have extranious light pouring into the room.

I used to have a 400 watt Hamilton Reefstar over my corner.. It was about 15" off the water and lighted the tank perfectly!

On a serious note: yeah, I don't know about that whole no hood, hanging pendant business, I may have to veto the very notion...

I can say the light bleed into the room was insane with the pendant hanging over the tank.. As in we had to move the tv so we could even see it without a glare washing it ou completely

LED? I love the idea. My wallet cannot support that desire. If I could get away with something compareable to MH in price....maybe. I just dont think I can drop that kind of cash atm.

Oh and as for going topless, remember this is a WE thing. So I guess there will be some disappointment that you shot down the topless idea. As for me being topless, im so white I look about like stareing directly into a 400 watt MH. No one wants to do that. No one.

Ahah! So MAYBE it's not my glasses and the need to get new ones giving me headaches... it's been you all along! I was just to "blind" (pun intended) to see it! I should have figured!

Ok. I am thinking Calfo Style overflow down one side 20" in length, 5 in deep, 3-3.5 off the back wall. My rock wall will jut out on that one side to cover the acrylic innards of the OF and make kind of a natural looking infinity pool effect. The rock wall ledge will give me a little shade for some of my less light intensive corals to grow in peace.

Now question. Closed loop, large return pumps running through locline with multiple outputs aimed as I please and fairly well hidden and large diameter drains, or keep the K3'S in all their ugliness and run moderate flow through sump and have most of my turnover in the PH?

Well, either way you should always only have "moderate flow through sump".

Yeah, that is true... Maybe just drain straight to a return pump and back in. Considering that It will be about 6 inches from the couch, silence would be golden too. I may line the bowels of the stand with acoustic foam to keep noise down too.

Honestly, if it's not RR, I would just get a HOB overflow box, put it in the back corner, and call it a day. I'm sure someone here could whip up an overflow box that would fit diagonally in the corner...kinda hard to explain, get a regular HOB overflow (one with a tube that doesn't require an Aqualifter to maintain siphon), use the back part of the overflow, and find someone to make a "triangle" front overflow piece that would fit in the corner.

I have one on my 55 I could use. I just think it is ugly and I do not mind spending the time and effort to do something a little different.

Uh... ok. I dunno how in the heck I am going to fit my skimmer, return pump, fuge, closed loop flow, and LR rubble under a 92 corner. I thought that my 55 was tight... this has custom written all over it. I think I may have to build a shelf for my closed loop pump (saves floor space and reduces head). If you have a corner tank (especially a 92) please show me some pix of your sump!

I would do a basement sump in a heart beat if I had one. I am bottom floor of an apartment complex at the moment. I do not think they would appreciate me jack hammering out the slab and making my own basement with quikcrete. When I do move to a house it will be a basement sump with all my tanks plumbed together. Right now thats a distant dream.
