Koralia running backward?

Was doing a little maint last night and one of my Koralias was making a little humming noise, which was odd as they are usually totally silent. So when I started messing with it a little it became obvious that it was spinning backward. I tried to unplug/replug a few times and it stayed the same, so I pulled it out, rinsed in the sink and tested and it started running fine again. Any thoughts what would cause this? Is it getting ready to die or is this just an oddity?

Thanks.

It happens occasionally. It's a known issue, I think the newer ones have had that issue corrected.

I 'think' I have a newer one. Only got it ~6 months ago.

Oh well, no biggie. Just wanted to know if it was me.

Thanks for the info.

I have new ones and they do it also. All u can really do is just unplug it and plug back in a few times. Just do it till it corrects itself

It is reversing the polarity on the coils of the motor to change rotation

I think mine did that one time! I noticed my star polyps were not moving, then I unplugged the powerhead and plugged it back in and the flow was back!

Both of mine run in reverse... Added the factory modifications last year, but this started recently. Not easy to plug, unplug, and repeat when you have the Apex set up to cycle the powerheads.
