Some of you may have read of my clark clown stuck in my 120 with 2 false percs after my nano failed. I'm glad to say she is still alive and doing fairly well, her eye seems to be getting better but she still gets bullied. I figured out I can "yell" at my bully fish by flashing my laser pointer at them.. while I think they are really chasing it most of the time, it lets me lead them away for a few min at a time without my getting up, or startling all the fish with a net or big motions. Of course it doesn't work when I'm not here but I figure any peace for the clark is recovery time. If the clark stays out of sight on the side of the rock work she does alright thanks to the short memory of fish.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to hurt em, I just am acknowledging the risks. And If PETA wants to come and catch the little bugger for me so I can get him in another tank then I welcome it! We try hard to make our systems void of natural dangers for our swimming friends but just as in the wild, sometimes things happen. I would rather have 3 blind and otherwise healthy fish that will live full and happy lives than 2 that killed the other one. I really don't think I'm going to make them blind wiggling a laser around them. But if I do, then Acroholic is right, at least I'll be able to teach em to use a computer!
Edit: Oh, and in our PC world, I think its better to say "you would accept making your pet differently abled..." =-D
I'm really baffled by the extreme negative feedback here to be honest. Tapping on the glass startles all the fish in my tank and I have simply found a way to target specific problem fish once in a while. They are small so granted the odds of hitting the eye for a very brief moment are much higher than when playing with a cat and a laser, but this is far from cruelty compared to what many non-captive bred fish go though that many of you buy. Now i recognize the irreverence of justifying one bad thing with another but still. So, if you have a better solution to integrate species that don't get along too well I'd welcome it. The clark is smaller and submissive and was added over a year after the other fish were established so they have territorial claim, I never intended to have them together but the other tank failed. I have tried to increase feeding to avoid them feeling that there is competition for food but I have a new job that has been taking a lot of hours. I am not intentionally hurting any of my fish, but I will also exaggerate my apathy in the face of a challenge to what I see as a non-issue, that's just part of my personality. So anyone out there who has PETA on their speed dial you should know that from experimentation I found shining the laser close by has almost the same effect as the fish is easily distracted. Call off the sharks! I'm reformed and my fish still love me.
You're good, I knew, I just have used PETA as the extreme example since you mentioned it. I just didn't mean for this to be a "controversial" thread.

If memory serves, i've read of others doing that with bully fish and they used a Pic of the same fish they were trying to acclimate/place in the tank. I am trying to remember what thread I read that on so I can link here
