leak test

So I'm filing up my 190 and im heating every once and awhile little creaks from the tank. Is this normal? I've never had a tank this large and every sec that goes by I'm biting my finger nails waiting for it to come crashing down....

I would think that it might be your stand creaking??? That still shouldn't be what you want to hear. Maybe someone with better knowledge will put in their 2 cents

I'm sure it's the stand... but If it was happening "a lot" then I would probably wonder why my stand were moving so much..

are you putting in really cold water? It could be because of the quick change in temperature.

I heard this filling up my new 180. It was the stand. If you have ever really taken a close look at AGA or Marineland stands, you wonder how they actually hold up the tank with water in it.

Not sure if it's the stand or the tank but I couldn't agree more with this statement!

FWIW it's filled and has yet to come crashing down :yay:

+1 I heard mine creak a little last night. It is odd how these stands hold the tank as only the rim is supported all the way around..

I took this tank apart and yours as well Gary. They both had the same thing in common. There were complete areas that the front glass had absolutely no silicone attaching it to the bottom. Only the small bead on the inside and the silicone around the trim.

Hey chris,
Hope you didn't feel asa if I was lacking confidence in your abilities. Filing up this beast with all my prized possessions in the same room scares the hell out of me. Nonetheless it kept water all night, so great job, thank s again.

WOW - doesnt surprise me....and mine was an oceanic, are they suppose to be premium tanks? Or at least the price tag is premium...
