Well, this was unexpected. Im breaking down the tank. I realized i cant afford this hobby at this point in my life, it sucks. But i was at the baby store and i saw a crib i really liked. My daughter is 6 months and still doesnt have a crib. And i realized, i could have bought her one months ago if i hadnt bought this or that for the tank. And it was a reality check for me. I love this hobby. I really enjoy it. But i need to get other things in order first. Hopefully i'll be able to come back in a year or so. I'll be on the site every now and again. And i really appreciate all the help and It was awesome meeting all the great people on this site! I hope you all come and help me sell off all the tank lol. But yea, this sucks for me, and im a bit upset but hey life comes first. :)

Just saw you for sale posting. Hate to see ya go, but we do understand...

Hey. It's free to post here, though. Don't be a stranger!!!

Oh i won't i have a few builds im watching lol. Plus i can always live vicariously through others on ARC lol

Completely understandable. I have had a tank for the last five years and switched to SW in January. With a new one due in January I hope I can do the best for my beautiful fish and baby. As soon as I pick between the two the tank will go.

You are doing the right thing. That baby deserves all your attention. And she will give back more that any fish or coral. I know. I have three. :-)

I am going on a cruise.....on my lawnmower around my yard.

If you can't respect that, your whole perspective is whack!

No worries. I'll be here when you get back ;)

I won't worry too much about giving up the tank, I gave up mine when our first little one came around, I was only tankless for 5 or 6 years ;-). Oddly that was the only time I can remeber not having a fish tank since I was about 9 years old, had the first salt when I was 14.
It gave me time to read and plan, I kept all the books ( you know these thing we had before the internet). This tank is way better then the last one and I felt more prepared.

Don't worry to much about not having a crib yet... my oldest was 4 when she left our bed, the middle child was 3 and the newest is only 5 months... so we'll see when that happens.

Edit: Oh... if I'm still around when you start back up, hit me up and I'll donate some frags for the new system.

Tanks come and go, the time with your kids you never get back, I know I missed out on a lot from being on the road for the last 8 years. Your child wont remember the tank but will remember the sacrifices you made for them. On the other hand we had a nice expensive crib and my son wouldnt even sleep in it.

Very good point. There is only one thing where children NEED the absolute best available. That one thing is.... Quality time. As parents it is easy to get caught up in wanting the best things for our kids but what really makes the difference is the time we give them. Not only the time when we are doing the fun stuff but the time when we are teaching and even disciplining them. Invest that time throughout their childhood and you will be amazed at the person they become. :-)
