There are two types of dimmable. One is electronic dimmable. If you get replacements for the dimmable make sure you get the right ones.

Agreed. I was under the impression that we were looking at ordering dimmable drivers.

Just asking because I don't understand : What is the purpose of non-dimmable drivers?

PM me the specifics you guys need. Output and dimmable or not I have both. Also have hyperon driver too. The best in my opinion. Once I get totals I can give you exact prices and drop shipping to anywhere will be fine too.

Also the questions about dim or not dimmable- the dimmable drivers have an additional two wires on them that must have a voltage applied or they will not work. There is several ways of addressing this. Basically there is only one type of dimming and it is a variable 0 to 10V input that must be applied. Apex controllers can do this and there are several dimmer boxes that can be used, as well as wiring up some basic potentiometers to control the voltage (0 to 10). I have these things too. For you guys replacing burnt out non dimmable units, you CAN change to dimming provided that you add on circuitry for this 10V variable input. If that seems too much to tackle you can simply put a 10V wall wart plug from Radio Shack onto the inputs to run it on max power. However while doing that its relatively simple to drill a hole in your housing and add a potentiometer to this to allow for manual dimming. I can also do the work for a frag !

Once more and I'll stop blowing up the thread! I'll have 10 drivers next week, dimmable, pre wired with a potentiometer and no external power supply for the dimming is required with these Hyperon drivers. These particular ones don't need to be dimmed but why wouldnt you? How does 30 bucks a pop sound? For those of you setting it up to an Apex, these will work and don't require the potentiometer, $28 for those. Shipping not included of course but it will be local and not more than a few bucks.

I did basically what you are saying. Bought the electronic dimmable but since I did not have a controller I purchased the $30 kit from Rapid Led. I mounted it on an acrylic bracket I made so I could mount it in my canopy. This one set up included a power supply and controls all three of my fixtures.

These won't require a separate power supply to dim.

As far as fitting in a Mm fixture, I have no idea. I have never seen one. They are roughly the size of a pack of cigarettes, slightly thicker though. Also these will only run 15 led strings at the most. If there are more than that it will require a much more expensive driver with a higher forward voltage to produce enough current.

Got it. This rules me out. Not that it's bad. Just that this won't work with what I had planned.

and
17 white, 3 uv, 5 blue on one string

Chinese fixtures were only built with price in mind. Garbage sells. Let me know when you care about reliabilty. Fours years on mine and have had to do nothing but plug them in.

Going on three years on my GARBAGE and mine are working fine (Growth and color on corals excellent). Had to do nothing my controller just turns them on I dont have to physically plug them in. lol

LOL. My garbage is doing just fine as well. Just wanted a little more control with the dimming of them. Not saying that I don't support American made products, but saying all Chinese fixtures are garbage is an unfair generalization. Especially when the person that made the statement is trying to sell Chinese products at the same time.

Don't think my corals care that my leds were made in China...

First off, many of these fixtures have been sold with absolutely no problems. A few have had problems and have made it very well known. I suspect that for that reason, many are looking to have a back up just in case.

On another note, are you aware that commercial sales are prohibited on this forum?

Mine are still working fine as well. Although after I snatch out the potentiometers and wire it up to my arduino I may glow afterwards if something isn't right.

I have to agree with the majority of the purchases of these units many were and still are satisfied.

They are not so great. Lots have/had problems. No one ever fixed the problems. I sold mine after I bought drivers for them and now they work great, for the person I sold them to. (lost my but on them) But I do not own them any more.
