budget?

Yes I was trying to stay under 150. I saw some on eBay, and was wondering if it was worth me buying instead of upgrading my t5 lighting

get 2 mars aqua boxes and call it a day.

they arent pretty, but they will grow sps.

btw... $150 budget for lighting is a bit slim in this hobby. a purple tang alone costs that amount or more.

just be careful what you are getting in to.

I agree on the mars leds. I don't own any, but have read very good reports on them in regards to SPS .
If i remember correctly, you can by two of the 165 watt models for about 180.00 or so.

Can't remember if this is against the rules (and if it is I apologize, mods can delete, no hard feelings) but there is an ongoing group buy on Facebook for black box leds with improved spectrum over the regular mars aqua and others. Similar pricing.

I have one over a standard 29 and it does work. PM me if you want details.

I have 2 Mars aqua fixtures over my tank and I have no issues growing SPS whatsoever. I will say however, that you may be interested in supplementing your lighting with T5s or something similar for more color as the Mars Aqua lights are programmable and you are limited to what the dimming options give you.

Ocean Revive lights WILL grow sps.
and on the cheap.
They are low on features, but hard to beat in that price range IMO

I will check both of them out and compare them, thanks

I've got 2 ocean revive and 1 reef breeders 16" led fixtures. $250 for all or 90 each if you're interested. Ocean revive fixtures are only 2 months old
