let's breed

James whe is a good time next week? I have rotis going already been harvesting them everyday to keep them from crashing. Have Rg complete and rotigrow plus for phyto. I've just been waiting on eggs.

May be hard to get there this Sunday. May have to catch you on the next batch. If it were Monday no problem. I will be in Columbus on Sunday.

oh man!
Two questions. is the phyto that comes in a room temp 8oz bottle good for starting a culture?
and where can I get some rotifers

James:

I will be in Athens this afternoon. Can I stop by to see what clowns are available? I should be at your place around 1:30 PM.

OK I know I havent gotten back to you but I have turned someone trying to buy that stuff you want as I am interested in making a trip over, just can't commit to when.

If you don't have any need for it when the time comes I understand

Wannabee come on over.

I had another wonderful visit with you yesterday. Well worth the 2 + hour drive [one way] to your place, James. I'm not sure if you told me in our conversation yesterday; how long before you think you'll have some siblings for sale from the "Never Nudes" a.k.a. [Nearly Naked] :wow2: odd couple. I definitely want [two] from this family to bring home to my family.

A ballpark estimate works for me on an [E.T.O.A.S]. ETOAS = estimate time of available sale.

They STILL haven't spawned, and normally you don't get any eggs from the first batches. I'd estimate having a few available in Dec. Only bad things happen quickly around here.

I understand and thanks for the update. Let me know if I can be helpful. Thank you for your dedication to "captive breeding".

Hey James just to update you on the eggs I got from you. It is day 13 and have only lost 10-12 thus far. Most have started to go through metamorphous on day 11-12 and now are starting to turn orangish brown and get one stripe near there head. I have been recording a short video every 5 days and posting to youtube channel. I've started feeding them TDO A to try and wean them from rotifers and baby brine shrimp. I am still feeding them both of those along with TDO though. Still have few that haven't quite yet gone through meta. Look for Day 15 Video post on Wed.

Here is link to day one and then navigate through my channel to see the progress day 5 and then day 11 etc.

let me know if you want some Perc eggs this weekend

Hey James I'll have to try next batch going out of town. But here are the babies day 21

Hey James thought I would update you. The little guys are still kicking and at last count 120 still alive and doing well. They are now 6 1/2 weeks old and there main diet now is TDO B1 actually only thing. They seem to be growing fast too. I will try and feed them some frozen BBS as a treat but they seem to love the pelletized granulars.

Here they are last week.

Also guess I'm going to have my hands full now. Had two pairs of my own decide to start laying. Probably let the first couple batches go. Here is one of the pairs caught in the act.

That's always how it is. As soon as you go get eggs, your own pairs finally get it. Looking good!

I've still got extra eggs if anyone else wants a try. I may even part with a pair.
