Anyone want to build a DIY calcium reactor with me? This way we can save some money on parts and probably shipping, and we can share some knowledge and skills.

I fix cars and have EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE TOOL needed for this job.

If want to be lazy we can just buy some phosphate reactors and rig it into a calcium reactor.

PM sentI might want to join in. Should be fun. I have been reading a thread on RC of a good sized rectangular Ca Reactor... doesnt look too challenging to build. :)

That other georgia reef group had a get together on this. Would be good to check out what they did. It looked top notch.

Guys, I have about a 4 1/2 ft length of 4.5" (.25" thick) extruded tubing if you are interested. I'm out of town till the 9th so pm me and I'll reply when I'm back (or from the road if I have a chance)

I like this one:

When I was still gung-ho DIY here are the ones I thought were pretty cool that aren't listed in JOMT's post:

no plans but looks easy to build:

yea the top one looks crazy and the parts list will take over 2 weeks to fill. The bottom one looks reasonable and just like the one i'm trying to make, but i'm run mine into a second chamber. I may use a phosphate reactor instead of that thing tho.

The nice part about the second one is that it requires very little DIY work. It is mostly getting the right parts list and screwing it together which I like. Those RO/DI canisters are extremely tough and very well built.
