Lets meet the new guy

First picture is when I siliconed the glass into place, I used wood blocks for spacing. The second picture is a larger file size of the sump in the stand. You should be able to click on it to enlarge it.

Welcome to the club!

But! Please get that light out of your sump. That is a fire waiting to happen!

If you need something to put the light on, cut a few small strips of acrylic and glue then to the rim of the tank, across the center of the tank. Then you can rest the light on the acrylic strips and get it out of harms way.

Thanks for looking out, but it is a submersible LED light from Marineland it is designed to be installed inside the tank. I agree that any regular light should not be installed inside of a tank. But seriously thank you for looking out, If I or anyone for that matter would have put a regular light in a tank It would definitely be a fire hazard. And if they did not know any better it would be sitting there like a ticking time bomb, them none the wiser. As a firefighter I know we get calls where people do what seems to most to be stupid just because they did not know better. that's one of the reasons I like the ARC everyone is looking out for each other.

Thanks
Josh

Good deal!

I kinda feel like a goof ball now, for calling you out when you already had it figured out. I've been around this hobby for a minute or two and seen people do some CRAZY(dangerous) things and just wanted to make sure no one got injured.

Good stuff, man! I anticipate a great build coming from this. Nice work on that stand. I'll need to be building a new stand for myself ASAP.

No need to feel like a goofball, i'm glad you pointed it out. From the picture you couldn't tell and if it was a regular light then that definitely would be a bad situation. So thanks once again. Also Auburn is not to far away if you need help with your build I would be willing to help out. I'm not a carpenter or anything but I have a few tools and willing to help.

Josh

Awesome set-up man, If you are ever in the Alparetta area, I'll give you some Cheatomorpha for your sump and a coral frag. I just upgraded into a 90 myself a few months ago...Its a good size. Good luck and welcome to your new obsession :D
