Light Cycle and GHA?

I'm having a little outbreak of Green Hair Algae and I'm cutting my light period back to get rid of it. I have turned off MH all together and my CF are on for about 4 hours.....I'm worried that if I turn the lights off all together for a few days I'm going to have coral die off....Does anyone have any recommendations?

How old are your CF bulbs? Plenty of people run their tanks with long photo periods and have no algae problems. You'll need to reduce nitrates and phosphates, and probably step up the water changes in order to get rid of it.

Yea...didn't think about the life of the CF bulbs....They are little over a year old now and way past time for replacement. Dang feel like an idiot for letting that slip up on me. Thanks!!!
