i cannot for the life of me find a name or any type of markings.

If it has electronic ballasts I believe that they should be fairly good. Is this correct?

Well I don't have much choice as of now. It hasn't given me any problems in 3 months

my ballast are black which ive read are the upgraded ones. the older ones with heat issues were white/silver,

Hers is more than likely magnetic, magnetic gets very hot. Unfortunately the odyessa catch fire due to poor quality, wrong ballast, faulty ballast, faulty wiring.... Ballast heat is not necessarily the only issue and cause with those units.

Kinda harsh man, he was just asking about what brand it was not how it works. Plus I think he positioned the legs that way due to it being a bowfront. They (bowfront) are kinda difficult to find light fixtures that work for them.

I'm crosseyed that's why the legs are like that. @ hawk at least i didn't put toxic caulk in my sump :)
