Hello all. I just got an order of nudibranches and LMB and after acclimating them, my aquaticlife light fixture went out. My tank is full of various corals and right now there is an old fluorescent light fixture that is probably 1/3 the wattage of the aquaticlife. I had to order a new timer and it won't get here until Tuesday or Wednesday. Does anyone happen to have a light fixture laying around that they could potentially loan me for a few days. I'm worried that my corals are gonna suffer substantially. :crying:

I am an hour from you, in Stockbridge. I have a few different fixtures. What length and size tank? You are welcome to borrow one.

It's a 72" 8 bulb T5 with 4 whites and 4 blues. Right now the fixture I have does enough to allow the corals to open up. If I understand correctly the flow is more important than the lights, and if one of the two is to abruptly go out on you, you would prefer it be the lights that go out and not the flow. So my next question is do you think my corals can survive another 3 or 4 days with decreased lighting or is it urgent that I get a better temporary fix? Thank you so much for your help!

exactly i wouldnt worry about it as long as you dont go more than a week without light. but even in nature there are those huge storms that block out light for longer than that and the corals survive so dont stress too much

That's along the same lines as I was thinking. I figured as long as it was getting some degree of light that it could make it until the middle of next week. Thanks again for the comments and help everyone!
You guys rock!!!

I don't think being without light for 3 or so days is going to be detrimental to an otherwise healthy tank :)
and did you say you had to order a timer?
just bypass it
