Light timer question

Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the coralife dual timer--the dual is the one which controls all the aspects of lighting, and give kinda a dawn to dusk affect moreso than other timers--you program it to first turn on actinics, then the daytime lights, then when time to go off, the daylight goes first, then the actinics-then the moonlights come on--I have the single, but seems like a good setup, but when I got on Marine Depot, everyone seemed to hate them; but wne i got on F&S, the reviews were great :huh: ??? If anyone has had any experience, please letme kow.

swimming pool timers work great! I use 3 on my tank!

These things have been known to fail and worse cause serious problems such as burning up. I am sure a lot of the big fire catching stories are misuse, but I had two when I first started and one smoked literally the first time I plugged something into the socket.

As someone mentioned outdoor or pool timers are the way to go.
