I have a 20T....

Is this too much light? and it's showing for plant growth. Will it work with coral?

Or would this one be better?

1st if you like GHA

2nd if you like coral. however i would go double the blues to whites.

neither?

If I were you, i'd go with a Kessil 150 - http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/kessil-a150-led-aquarium-light.html">http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/kessil-a150-led-aquarium-light.html</a>

Ocean Blue would probably be the one to go with

wow thats pretty cheap

Thanks Guys! I'm a little bit of a budget. I already have an orbitz LED running, so I was just looking for a little something to supplement it. I already have a attachment with a standard size bulb outlet that clips to the tank. So I really just need a good bulb/led light for it. Any thoughts?

which fixture are you running? I would say that is probably enough

Just the basic Orbit Marine LED Saltwater Reef Lighting System - 24" Everything is growing fine from what I can tell, but it seems like everything looks washed out. Like I'm missing some part of the color spectrum.

if you are after coral growth you will want MH or T5. That being said, LED offers a lot these days, but the trade off is growth.

prepares for the barrage haha

Thanks Snowman! I was looking for a bit more growth and a better light spectrum, but all this time I've had a t5 one bulb fixture that came with my tank. I had a blue itinic bulb. I plugged it in along with my leds. I love the look and I'm hoping that will help with growth?

it may help if you change the bulb to a better brand such as ATI or Geis...

however, the question still remains: how good of a single bulb t5 fixture you have is it?

I would, at least, buy a 2 bulb t5 fixture and with your current LED as supplement. couple everything with a good bulb from ATI or so to really get the results you want

I believe they're both the Deep Blue brand. How's that brand?

I don't have much space left for more lights. It's only a 20gal

youre still on that kick?hahaha, some folks will never learn:roll:.
just go over to the big boards and check out some led lit tanks, youll see growth and color that matches mh or t5 and some cases exceeds it

I think I'd run a white bulb if I only had a single bulb unit , but it should help definitely with supplement .
I love led , they accentuate coral colors and offer great growth and color in some coral but there are some corals I've just found that grow better under t5 .
Its not a matter of too much or too little or even a spectral issues its just some coral like and some dont. I argued for led only because of the success id personally had , but then I added ho-t5 and got expansion and reactions from coral that haven't been growing or doing much for months so its hare to say for me personally that led lighting is a perfect fit for everything but they are hard to beat for cost and heat exchange.

I hope my current build gets me off of that kick:)

2013 is calling. they want their misinformation back.

these are just the turing leds of dsuny. i have the heavy duty ones.

here we can look at the much coveted phoenix 14ks 250w which were cool back in 2013 too.

lets give those phoenix 14ks some help with supplemental lighting and reflectors.

leds have come a long way in 2 years. you can do a reef with standard 2w bridgelux, let alone going overkill like i did with 3w 60 degrees

of course the gold standard for leds... radions

I think for my tiny tank, and not wanting to spend a ton of money on lighting the mix of my led and t5 will be good for now. Like Terry said above which I think is dead on, some of my coral have already perked up a lot with the t5. Some just like what they like :)

Serious come back lol

I think the biggest issue that people were having with LEDs early on was not a lack of punch, but a lack of spectrum. Pretty much everything these days in the LED market is going to be nearly full spectrum. I know I get insane growth from everything in my tank and I'm only running Kessils 360s, no supplementation.
